the soanes family

This family was so realaxed and fun to shoot. The girls are naturals in front of the camera, and they were so well behaved. An absolute treat to shoot!

baby hugh

Not even a day old and already posing for the camera. Well, after he got lots of hugs from Dad anyway! Big congratulations to the parents, and I cant wait to get him into the studio soon for some squishy newborn shots.

brittany

This is an "artist choice" shoot. So that means I went to Brittany's house, raided her wardrobe and went to whatever location i chose and she had to do everything i said! So i made her ride in a shopping trolley, lay in the middle of a lane, sit on a red suit case, put on a beanie even though she had just done her hair, lean on a pole near a busy road and have me poke her in the head with flowers. So you can see how much fun we had! I have put lots of vintage colouring and texture on these and I am really happy with them. And it was so good to get out of the studio.

Thanks Brittany! You rock!

the boo yaaaa song!!!

I love this! Liam shot this of Tony singing the 'Boo Yaa" song while we were on our geckos trip through Morocco. It kind of became our official tour song. We sang it in a kasbah in Fes, in the sahara, on the top of a mountain somewhere, and somewhere between Essaouira and Marrakesh when our bus broke down for three hours. I am a great back up dancer!

I have also successfully wasted a couple of hours setting up my facebook account after having bowed down to public pressure to get one, so i can share my travel photos. So posts of some of them coming soon!

driving back from melbourne

Love the way the sun is streaming through the clouds.

And gues what is happening at the studio right now? The sign is getting put up. Yup. The one that has been sitting on the back verandah for about six months... I am now officially signed up!

a slide show for brydee

{ Note to Brydee, you need to get your album order in now if you want it back by Christmas! }

ava and oscar

These two are so cute. Oscars mum told him if he was good for the photos he would get a truck from the Cars movie. I think it was Mack? We are not above bribery in the studio. Whatever it takes to get the shot!

the johnston girls

If you know these two lovely girls, dont tell dad they had their photos done cause its a present for fathers day. We had a great time in the studio, lots of giggles and laughs.

cutie pie

I just got the pink vintage one framed and have to find a spot to hang it
cause its just so damn cute!

blah day

I have decided to rename today as "blahday". You see, I have had this cough for a week now, and its keeping me awake all night, and I really need my sleep, and today i am doing my books and my tax. And tax is very blah. So that is why today is blah day. The End.

molly and harry

I had a ball with these guys in the studio, we even got mum and dad in for some shots too! I have been spoilt lately with the great kids I've been working with.
Molly can do the splits and Harry could do hand stands. I couldn't let skills like that go to waste, so i made a layout for each of them with some funky colours on it to show off their moves.

many hats

I was just looking at some pics I took of Cheyenne at eight months old, cause I have just booked her in for her one year old shoot, even though I cant believe that she is one already... Time flies! So i was just playing around and made this one up. Thats what i do at nine at night if there is nothing good on tv...
And i love this one. I need more wall space!
Oh and i did a slide show too, from mum's first and second maternity shoot to cheyennes last shoot... when i do the first year old shoot i will add that too ...

Mrs D

Say it with me now! Meow! Isnt she beautiful? These are some of the tame ones, some of the other ones are way too hot for this blog! And yes - she works out and yes - she is married, sorry boys!

suitcase

I found a new prop for the studio. Now i just have to figure out what to do with it... And i think i need about another three or four in bright colours... And i am keeping my eye out for a retro telephone if anyone sees one. Trust me, it will look groovy in photos!
I have had some great kids in the studio this week, will pop them on the blog once i get the edit done. For now I am off to have a humungous Christmas in July lunch with the family. Yum yum yum. You can not beat a meal at Batesys Bistro.

the makeham family ( and jack )

I shot Charlotte when she was an itty bitty baby and she she's all grown up now and has a little brother, Thomas. They came in for a family shoot with their cousin Jack.

waiting for baby

Bernadette and Mark were in the bridal party of a wedding that I shot, so it was great to see them again, this time with a baby on the way. They were happy to do anything ( and i love it when that happens ) so I tried my new backdrop / wrap / curtain thingie out on Bernadette. I love the end result. I cant wait to meet their new baby!

alison and rob waiting for baby

I squeezed Al and Rob in just before I went overseas, in case Al went into labour early and I missed getting the belly shots. But she hasnt yet, I am still waiting for the call to go and get photos of the baby. Itty bitty squishy newborn... Favourite! I am so excited for these two - Rob is totally smitten with the baby and its not even born yet!
Edited to add : Congratulations to Alison and Rob on the arrival of their beautiful little boy, Hugh. He is totally adorable and completely pressed all my maternal buttons in one go. I will have some pics to post of him soon, from when he is only hours old.

i wanna trash the dress!

Calling all brides ( whether I have shot your wedding or not! )

I really really really want to do a trash the dress session. Click here to see a random video of a trash the dress shoot. Its not about destruction, its about creating some art with your dress! Groom it totally optional. But you must have sexy shoes and be willing to get down and dirty in your dress in any location, the grungier the better.

What about a huge trash the dress session as a fund raiser for breast cancer? I usually do a fashion shoot but this would be so much more fun! What about the first saturday in December ( i still have that date free ) and then we would have the pics back in time for Christmas presents.
Click here to check out the american trash the dress site and here for the australian site, which has got a lot more studios on it than last time i looked. I love the one of the bride running along he beach with a big stripey umbrella in her gum boots. Perfect for the weather we've been having lately!

This would also be a great oppurtunity for make up artists or hair dressers to get some awesome images for their walls... I am feeling that creative itch coming on!

EDITED TO ADD : wow, i have had such a great response to this! I have booked in a gorgeous model ( hopefully more than one! ) to get me going and then I am going to get the fashion fund raiser trash the dress shoot fully launched. Which means i have so much work to do...

I have a shoot next week of my own design, and i have a feeling we will be doing something funky. The images below are two I got at one of my "own design" shoots.

baby lachlan

Three and a half weeks old and so cute. He wasn't at all impressed with having his photo taken, but we sent him off to sleep and got some cute shots of him anyway.
Craig was totally horriffied the other day, someone asked me what I did for a living, and of course I told them - qute proudly! - that I shoot babies for a living. Evidently that didnt sound quite right, so from now on Craig has asked that I say I "photograph" babies instead.

the wedding of emily and henry

This was the last wedding I shot before I went overseas, and it was a great wedding to end the season on. The bride was gorgeous, the bridal party was fabulous ( even though they are totally goofing off in the pic above! If you look closely you will see someone has got a bottle cap in their eye - but thats why I like it! ), the dress was beautiful, the flowers were pretty and the light was lovely! We had a great location and just enough light left to get some great shots. I absolutely love this location and it has moved to one of my favourite spots on my shoot list.
The ceremony was at Saint Michaels Cathedral, and the bride and her dad arrived on a horse drawn cart... or is it a carriage? Or a buggy? Anyway, it looked great and made a grand entrance. The reception was at the Country Comfort and it looked great.

There was a little window box near the front door with yellow glass in it, so i popped the perfume in there for a shot.
