This is the last post from this session and i have saved my favourite pics till last. These were the last ones taken as the light was fading and I totally love them.
Warning : emotional stuff ahead : Huge thanks and hugs to Briony for giving me some much needed inspiration, and to Bess for being fabulous, and to her mum and dad for letting me steal her and her sisters for a couple of hours, and hitching the trailer up and dragging furniture out into the paddock for me. You rock! Ok, so i am probably sounding like i am doing an acceptance speech for an emmy award or something, but you know what i mean! I just really appreciate it when clients not only let me play with ideas, but fully embrace them. The resulting images speak for themselves. And now i really need some chocolate...
Honestly, this girl just melts my heart. I could just shoot her all day long. This is her favourite bike. Very retro cool and a perfect match for her red top.
Riley is such a little cutie. This shoot was for his first birthday, and I have been shooting him since he was a bump in his mummy's belly. He loved his balloons and cupcake with green icing. Not that i blame him, they looked delicious!
Maggie is such a beautiful girl, i just want to hug her all the time. We thought it was going to rain but the weather stayed perfect and sometimes even peeked out from behind the clouds. The grass was long and lush and green so we made full use of it before the harsh Wagga summer hits and dries it all up.
{ The pettiskirt in the bottom pic is from The Nursery Fairy and the chair belongs to Maggie's lovely mum }
Tamara and Katarina are some of the first babies i photographed at Skye Rocket Studio. It has been amazing to watch them grow from babies up into sweet little girls. They love dressing up as story book princesses, so we had a bit of a tea party in the studio. I dont usually use the black backdrop but i wanted to try something different, as normally they love trying out new ideas with me. On this day however, it required more bribery, pleading and singing than usual!
As we head into the crazy time of year, my timetable is going to start filling up really quickly. With weddings and portraits both in full swing at this time of the year, you need to book in advance if you want your pics back in time for Christmas. Even things like viewing and ordering sessions may be booked up for two weeks.
There is one week in october where i am going to sydney for a seminar, which means i just booked the last school holiday session. My last October spot is saturday the 31st at four pm. Thats it, October is completely booked after that.
( Edited to add : i just booked that one too. )
You must be booked in by the 20th of November to get your photos back in time for Christmas.
You may have seen Max's big brother, cause he is a poster boy on my wall. So it was Max's turn to get some shoot time in the studio, but we did sneak Charlie in for some shots too. Then the boys got to eat some cupcakes and squish their little toes in it. I think thats the best way to eat cake. At least it is from a photographers point of view, especially one who loves little toes. And cake.
Makailee came to visit me in the studio, wearing her little red party dress. Her big brother had already had some photo lovin' when he was little, so he jumped in for some shots to show his sister how it was done.
Another display idea on the kitchen table. Well, the magazine was on the kitchen table anyway. Again, another idea for leaning pix, instead of having to put holes in the walls. In this example, the bedhead is fixed to the wall, but you could have a bedhead made to lean your frames on. Just make sure they are firm so they dont fall down in the middle of the night and bang you on the head.
