display idea
The beauty of a display like this is that you can add to it over time.

happy birthday lara!
"Happy Birthday Lara!"
My gorgeous niece turns nine years old today.
When she grows up she wants to be a model and ride a Harly Davidson.
The one below is one of my favourite images of her. She styled it herself, with whatever she found in my wardrobe ( i bought the skirt in Vietnam, the tophat is from a fancy dress party Craig went to, and everything else she found in my props box. ) Then she posed herself like this, right in that spot. And i just love it. I have it printed to one day go on my wall.

bookings
I cant believe we are half way through the year already. I have sat down with the diary and pretty much worked out the schedule for the next six months... I have to plan ahead! I am almost booked up for weddings for this year, and have started taking a lot for next year already.
For portraits, there will only one more Saturday between now and Christmas. I havent decided which date it will be yet, but i already have a waiting list for when it becomes official. I also don't have any bookings left for portraits until the second week in August. And this is the quite time of year!
With this weather everything is getting shot in the studio, I am oh so patiently waiting for some nice weather to get outside and do some location portraits. But for now all i can see is grey sky... Crank the heater up and turn those studio lights on!

what to wear { for girls }
Is it just me or are girls so much more fun to dress up? This will be a super quick post, cause its twenty to six on a Friday night and I told myself i would knock off at six cause i have to work tomorrow.
Anyway, I came across these divine headbands today, I only had a quick look ( fifteen minutes to go! ) but wow, they would be so great for photo shoots? Oh and even though the shots are by Skye, its not me ( i wish! ) its a different skye. and i thought i was unique!
check out the link here
they are called whippy cake, cute huh??

thinking positive
A couple of years ago, when i did a busines course, I learnt about positive affirmations. Mine were fairly quite and simple, but I think I like the way they are done in this Youtube clip.

hot mamma { maternity shoot }
I met the lovely Jill when I shot her wedding, and a thoughtful friend got her a gift voucher for her baby shower, so we used it to get some lovley maternity shoots. She is due soon and i cant decide if i think she will have a boy or a girl. Either way, there will be lots of love.

display idea
I know its been a bit quite on the blog front lately. Honestly they just dont put enough hours in the day, and last week was kinda tough.
Heres hoping thats all over and its now smiles all around!
I found this image on Emmas Design Blog, the photo in the picture is by a photographer named
Hertzell and i think it looks pretty cool. Makes me want to get the boys all dusty in their cars just so i can photograph it. On a technical note, its also a big print to match the lounge for scale.
Also from the same blog is this pic, which is fab. I would love this in my bedroom, but i would use black frames i think....

miller { seven days old }
Its funny how you get used to doing things a particular way. I did Millers shoot at her parents house, as they live in Melbourne. I rearranged the furniture ( i will always do that if i shoot at your place! ) to get some nice light, but i missed all my blankets and hats!
Miller was very awake, and we still had a big drive back to Wagga, so Craig was looking at his watch, saying cant you just shoot her now? I looked at him and said "Can you just build a house and leave it half finished?" So Miller had a big feed and a snooze and i got some cute shots of her and big sister Edie too... And yes, Miller had her tongue poking out pretty much the whole time. Adorable.

last year
This time last year I was overseas, somewhere in Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru or Argentina. I randomly found the above image today while editing lots of portraits, and it was taken in Argentina. I still havent had time to edit all the photos. Or the photos from Morocco from our trip the year before that. We have decided not to go overseas this year, because we built our shed instead. And even though I have a shed now, I am sad, cause I dont get to go backpacking through another country. And i love doing that.

what to wear { for girls }
My clients have know about this brand for a while, but today i just clicked over to the website. Ohh, the colours, the lace, the beanies... Beautiful!
How do i get a job photographing their next catalogue? Although I actually prefer the outfit without the fur vest... just my personal taste!
Click here to visit the Tea Princess web site.
