This is the very adorable Vann, who slept like a champion for his photo session. He was the first to wear the new little knitted overalls from the MILK collection and I have since ordered some more. Everytime I think I have enough props I do a session like this and then order some more. Boys are harder than girls too, so I love lots of greys and blues and chunky texture.

charlie { a newborn session }
Charlie was eleven days new for her photo session and such a beautiful girl. Her mumma wanted to incorporate some special things for daddy in the session, so we used his motorbike helmet and a blanket that used to be Charlie's daddys when he was a baby.

emily { a newborn session }
Emily was nine days old for her visit to my studio. She is such a cute little bubba. Her mum and I go way back to my uni days.
I have been using my new timber backdrop for lots of newborns session lately, loving the dark tones it brings to the background. Goes beautifully with the timber drawer. I would love about five more of these drawers but they arent that easy to find!

campbell { a newborn session }
The handsome Campbell and his gorgeous family, his beautiful big sister had been in my studio before but I was more than happy to photograph her again. She was so good snuggling her little brother, but she did tell me she was the cutest one out of the two of them!

pippa { a newborn session }
Miss Pippa was fourteen days new when she came to visit me in the studio. We had the heater on to ward off the winter chill, and although she fought sleep for a while I always win eventually. Pippa was just happy to chill out and just look around but how cute is she sound asleep? She was just divine and it was so nice to be able to meet her when she was so little and soft and sweet and snuggly.

matilda { five days new } newborn session
Miss Matilda was the smallest, tiniest sleepiest little baby girl and I was totally smitten with her. I have to admit that four newborns in two days was making me very clucky, and Matilda was the last baby, so I almost entertained thoughts of having another baby. But then I had a great idea. I'd just photograph newborns instead. Brilliant!

adelyn { seventeen days new }
Adelyn was seventeen days new for her modelling debut, baby number three out of four from my model call. She may be a brand new babe but she certainly told me when she didnt like the way I was posing her. The baby always runs the session. To see the full shot of her in the very fancy french bucket check out my facebook page. Its one of my favourites from this session. She just looks adorable.

emmett { seventeen days new } newborn session
Emmett was the only boy when I did my newborn modelling sessions, and he was very handsome! His Mamma bought in the red and blue blanket so we worked it into the session. Look at those little lips, is he not the cutest ?

holly { twelve days new }
A couple of weeks ago I found myself with two whole work days and no appointments, and while i'm still not sure how that happened I had to fill those days with something wonderful, so I did a model call for newborns. I got to meet and snuggle four brand new little babies and it reminded me that they are all so different.
So if I stand on my tippytoes and stretch my arms up as high as I can ( which isnt very high, because Im pretty short, but work with me here! ) then that's about how much I learnt over two days. I have photographed lots of newborns over the years, but I made sure to try lots of new props and some new ideas. Get out of that comfort zone.
First up was Holly, who was born weighing in just over 11lb. She tried to resist sleep but her mumma took her for a lap around in the block in the car and she couldnt resist any longer, she arrived back in the studio sound asleep and ready for her close up.
