I had an absolute ball shooting these guys in the studio. Maybe its the pregnancy, but I am really enjoying watching how families, of all sizes and types, interact. The energy between them. And these guys had some great engery.

I think i need to work on my directions for this type of shot, the first take didnt really work, but once i stopped laughing I could get them pretty much where I wanted, although they didnt really get the point of a race where they all had to finish at the same time.

the wedding of hayley and robbie

This was my first wedding back for the new year. Sooo nice not to have to shoot a wedding in the rain! And check out those shoes, how hot! You know i love me some hot shoes at a wedding. Hot bridal party, hot shoes, hot weather, it was a fabulously hot day all around really!

booking up left right and centre!

Just a heads up about bookings! I have already booked February and March and am now booking early April and May. Then I am due in June, so I am trying not to take any session bookings for June so I can get everyones sessions and weddings and story books and albums and prints and the banking all done before my new little one arrives! Then we will be closed in July, August and September for maternity leave, and then back ( but only part time! ) in September and October.

Wow, that sounds like a lot!

Ok, now i have to go and edit a wedding or two so i can get some much more interesting blog posts up here!

imogen { ten months old } wagga photographer

Imogen was not at all impressed by her photo session.

We started off with mostly this expression:

which turned to something like this 

( which is pretty cute with her chubby finger in her mouth, and her little feet crossed over! )

 and then i got a smile! And that was pretty much the end of the session.

lulu { fifteen days old } wagga newborn photographer

Little Lulu is such a sweetie pie! I have photographed Lulu's big sister Indi before so I knew her mum would come in with some gorgeous things for our session. The old pram was a $10 garage sale buy, I was hoping you wouldnt notice the front tyres are missing, I will have to put new ones on my shopping list! But doesnt it look divine with the beautiful patchwork blanket from Vintage Stash? I tried to keep it at the end of the session but it matches Lulu's room beautifully so I had to let it go. I can see a shopping trip to Vintage Stash in the very near future!

new website is up, but the slideshows are all down!

The new website if officially launched and so far getting rave reviews! 

Unfortunately all the ordering slideshows are down for the moment while the tech guy does some techy stuff. Apologies, I know some people are trying to get their orders in,and hopefully it will be fixed very soon.

welcome back!

Wow, its 2011 already and the first month is three quarters done.

Thank you for all the wonderful emails i have had about my pregnancy. So far its all going well, and i am trying to keep those thoughts about all the things that can go wrong out of my head. My fingers are swelled up which seems to be making it a bit trickier to type than usual, but apart from that I'm feeling pretty good.

The whole journey of pregnancy... what a learning curve. There are so many things i understand about women now that never quite made sense before. I know that its not always an easy journey, i have heard many stories from clients and from friends, many of them heartbreaking. I now have my own stories to add to theirs. But women are just amazing. Not just the fact that we can make something so beautiful with our bodies, but the fact that we can have our hearts broken, and that we are strong enough to make the decision to stand up and maybe get it broken all over again.

Time to get down off my high horse now, because i think i might have overbooked myself for the first week back, but i had so many little babies that were born over christmas that i had to book in. They just grow up so fast, and are changing every day.

what a blur!

Where did christmas go? Its been and gone, kind of a blink and you'll miss it holiday. New Years finally saw me get some time off and slow down a bit, and now i am really relaxing and not looking forward to going back to work on the 17th! I have a wedding this Friday to shoot, but i am thinking of going away again this weekend. When your house is at the back of the studio, sometimes the only way to really knock off is to get out of town.

I hope everyone had a wonderful christmas and that the new year is full of peace, love and happiness.

opening and closing

Hello folks! Just a reminder about our open and close hours over the next two days. I know there is still a lot of people to pick up. I will be out of the office most of the day Tueday and Wednesday is my last day, I am knocking off at two. Then thats it till the 17th of January next year!

I am really looking forward to some time off!

guess what?

Some of you know, some of you have suspicions, and some of you wont have a clue. What is it? I'm pregnant! So pleased to confirm we are expecting our first child in June of next year. To say we are pleased as punch would be stating the obvious.

What does this mean for the studio? At the moment we are just going to back off a bit next year ( hence, no more wedding bookings! ) and have a few months off when bub is born, then back just part time for the rest of the year. This could change next year, but at the moment thats the plan.

As usual I have lots of grand plans that i want to achieve over the holidays, but i will most likely be found in my super comfy camping chair on the shore of Blowering Dam with a good book and a pile of magazines. No computer, no office and no deadlines!

malakai and kaleb

These two boys... love them! I have known them both since they were little, a round bundle in mums belly, i have done both of their naming days and family sessions with them. Malakai ( the eldest ) comes out with some of the most funny things and Kaleb is jsut watching the world around him and figuring it all out. I think i tired him out at our photo session? Dont you just want to pick him up and rock him to sleep?

the wedding of kara and jim

The cereomony of Kara and Jim was at Mt Erin Chapel, and their reception was at the Garden Court. The weather was pretty, the dresses gorgeous and the bridal party was fabulous!

Kara and Jim are not only fantastic people, and soooo in love, and so amazing together, they have been exremely patient waiting for me to edit their photos! So i thought i might post a couple of extra pics in their sneak peak.

And a bit of a behind the scenes moment. It totally cracks me up, because lining up in "boy girl" order is often much more complicated than it seems! Makes me laughh every time i look at it, i might have to print it out and put it on the wall in my office!

final call for print orders!

Talk about leaving it to the last minute! Who hasnt put their print order in yet? If i havent got it by Friday the 10th you wont be able to place another order till we reopen from holidays on the 17th of January. ( The deadline for all products has passed, except for prints and standard image boxes. ) And just to throw a spanner in the works I will be out of the office most of the day Friday. So as long as i have your order by email before Sunday you should be fine. But please make sure i email you back to tell you i have received your order, if you dont get confirmation i may not have received it.

archer { one year old }

I have been photographing Archer since he was a little bitty baby. Now he's a little man. We did do a cake smash for this session, but lets just say that Archer is not a fan of the idea!

hayden and olivia

They both started off really well but I think Olivia showed more staying power than Hayden, she was still smiling right at the end of the session. Her gorgeous apple dress and Haydens little shorts are from Brussel Sprout Kids. Cute stuff!

Sometimes at a wedding ( or a function ) i get to set up my gear and do kind of a photo booth shoot style. With your guests. This slideshow is just a sample of some of the images that we got on the night.

( Unfortunately it doesnt quite fit nicely in the blog, but it still works. When i get time i will come back and try and make it look pretty! )

tyler + caden { and some lollipops } wagga child photography

Tyler and Caden came in and were fabulous to photograph. We saved the lollipops for the very end of the session, and the kids look so sweet in their denim eating them. They were pretty big lollipops so Caden pretty much gave up using the stick and just grabbed at it with both hands.

ten days till the print deadline!

Just a reminder that the print cut off date to get your orders back by Christmas is the 10th of December. Seeing as today is the first, that doesnt leave much time to get those orders in!

I know a couple of clients are still waiting for their slideshows, and they are coming very soon!

Christmas is sneaking up on me with all the stealth of a herd of elephants. I am trying not to panic that today is the first day of December. And where is summer? All this rain and overcast days are so like last season.

Cut off date for ordering is Friday the 10th of December
Prints ready for pick up on Friday the 17th of December.

fabulous five

Jesse, Toby, Zahli, Brandi and Rhani came in, giggled, laughed, cacked themselves ( actually that was probably just Toby, who would go into hyserical laugher every time i raised the camera! ) and hopefully had some fun together! I always think five kids would be fabulous.
