jades autumn session { part two }

Part two of Jades autumn session. Outfit change. She was more interested in trying to feed me apples at this stage, but I can honestly say that the apples were delicious!

Every year I find myself driving around for hours looking for the perfect autumn location and every year I fail to find it. Maybe my expectations are too high?? But i still love to do autumn sessions. Normally I have to take the twins with me to do a photo session but this time they got to hang out with Dad while Jade and I did some exploring. I dont tell her we're doing a photo session. I tell her we have a basket of apples to play with, a suitcase to sit on and a new pair of boots to wear. With butterflys on them.

When I was pregnant with the twins I did a family session on location and at the end of the shoot a little boat session for jack, but I wasnt totally happy with it... It was late in the morning, not the best light, and I was pretty much exhausted, sitting on the ground and not able to move much... so this time I took the twins with me but they were in a pram. Much easier to move around that way, but it does restrict the locations you can use! Jack was all for the session until he realised how much fun it was to stand in the mud in his gumboots. Then we got stuck in the mud.

My poor little blog is so neglected at the moment so i thought i might post some sessions.  Its after nine at night and the kids are all asleep for at least the next twenty minutes... Jack is one year old already, and we did a little on location cake smash for him.

If you've seen the post of Jade with the cupcake stand, this was the same shoot. Cupcakes are always better when shared with friends, and its a lot of work to set that styled shoot up so I invited some friends along so I could make the most of it. And someone had to help me eat all those cupcakes or I would have had to eat them all by myself.

{ Im still on maternity leave though... for another couple of months at least. Loving spending lots of cuddle time with my two boys. )

rhys and nate { four and a half months old }

My handsome little men. Just love these boys! The bottom two with their MILK hats was their official shoot, and the other three was just a five minute pop them on the floor type session cause they were being so smiley for me. The past couple of months has been a blur, not just from when the twins were born but the pregnancy too. Then they do a little happy dance when I see them first thing in the morning and you just think it couldnt be possible to have a heart big enough to love that much.

Jades birthday isnt until May, and she turns two. So there had to be a special shoot to celebrate her birthday... but i shot it a bit earlier than May because I wanted to do it on location and we all know what the weather is like here in Wagga in May. Its cold. So i grabbed some fabulous friends, put the twins and daddy in the car, and set up a cupcake stand. Isnt it pretty? And i got to eat the cupcakes afterward, so that was an added bonus!

The sweetest girl. She was born at twenty eight weeks and gave us all a scare,  but she has since shown her determined spirit and come home with her colours flying. She was born Christmas day was meant to be three months older than the twins but ended up about two weeks older instead. Her parents are some of my favourite people in the whole wide world. They would have to be for me to do a shoot at the moment, we had all five kids here, it was total chaos! But i got to snuggle and photograph this precious little girl, and that made my day.

I cant help it. I have to photograph something! I'm such a photographer, I can't turn it off. So I loaded Jade and the twins and daddy into the car for a quick sunday afternoon photo shoot.

Gumboots weren't my first choice of footwear, but Jade loves them and they proved to be good protection from the ants, which were the size of a small car and in a bad mood after a rain shower. The old blue pram is one of my photo props and normally lives in the studio. Jade is not usually allowed to play with it so she was fairly happy to push it around for a photo, but in typical two year old fashion only wanted to push it anywhere I didnt want her to. And as usual she gave me her serious face most of the time.

I struggle to find the time to do sessions with Jade at the moment, so when a spare half hour presented itself I put a pretty dress on her and headed off to a little mini session. There was not a breath of wind when I left my house but it was blowing pretty hard at the location I had in mind. So we got back in the car.

By this stage of her life Jade would have had about six photo sessions already, but with the boys i have only managed two. With the twins and Jade I just cant find the time! I am already sad they are out of the newborn stage... as far as photographing them goes anyway. Not sad they are starting to stretch their feeds out a bit longer. They will be seven weeks old this Australia day weekend and the time has just flown by in a blur of breast feeding and nappy changes.

I have been trying to find the time ( and the energy ) to do a mini shoot with Jade on location, but I havent quite figured out the logistics of it yet. And its hot.
