the wedding of kellie and mick
Kellie and Mick celebrated their wedding at the Roseleigh Manor. The weather wasnt as warm as it could have been, but the big black clouds gave me some spots to shoot that I wouldn't have used otherwise. Even though we were all freezing we trekked to the top of the hill to get some shots with the veil blowing in the wind.

display idea { white frames }
Look at this lovely pink, brown and teal colour scheme. The frames are mostly white but different types and then there is one blue one to pick up the colour of the cushion underneath. Also loving the text sticker with "family" applied to the wall. I might have to add that to my list of things to do here!

booked out!
Its kind of hard to believe, but I am now booked out for Christmas.
Full, chockers, packed to the brim...
I can still shoot you in early December, but you wont be able to get prints back in time for Christmas.
I really really wish i had more time, but there just arent enough hours in the day.
And its only November!
( Edited to add : actually its only October. My brain is getting a bit fuzzy )

the fantastic five
These two families dont get together that often, so while one was visiting we grabbed some shots of the kids together in the studio. Craig thought I was a bit crazy when after the shoot i told him that i thought having five kids would be great. i think he nearly fainted.
what to wear?
Another question I get asked all the time is "what do we wear?". I just found this great post on Kamee June's photo blog, and its such great advice on what to wear I thought I might share it with you.

oliver
Olivers big brother had a turn in front of the camera a while ago, so now it was Olivers turn to shine. He even got mum and dad to jump in for some photos.
Oliver had some great expressions, when he laughed his whole face would light up, but when he was serious he was very very serious! It probably didnt help that every time he pulled a face like that i would crack up laughing.

byron and piper { on the farm }
We had a beautiful afternoon on the farm but I think i may have killed a couple of sheaths of wheat while getting these pictures! Hopefully it wont affect the final yield too much, because we did catch some great shots to go on the walls of their fabulous new house.
room inspiration
This room for a little three year old girl is just so lovely! If i dont want to be a photographer anymore i might become an interior designer. I love the frame display, especially the black and white maternity shot in a white frame.
I cant take credit for this find, someone gave me the link in the comments section ( thanks bec! )

From a totally different room but i love the big black and white of the three girls between their bunks.

whats the best age to photograph baby?
I get asked this question so many times i thought it might be worth its own blog post!
The best time to get photos done of your baby depends on what you want to achieve. If there is a special time in your life or a special bond you want to capture, then get the shoot done.
However, there are certain stages in the first year that are better than others.
The first stage is newborn. Get those beautiful curly squishy sleepy shots. This can only happen in the first ten or so days, and around the five day mark is often best. Babies are very sleepy and let you pose them without waking up.
The next stage is when baby is laying on his or her belly and able to hold their head up quite well. Usually by this stage they are getting smiley too and you can get some great shots of their expressions. If you miss the newborn stage then I really recommend waiting till baby reaches this stage.
Sitting up is the next stage, when they can sit up without needing to be propped up on anything, and can sit for a while quite happily. This is also a good stage to do sibling and family photos as the baby doesnt have to be held.
When baby starts to stand ( and before they start walking if you can! ) is the next stage. This is usually around the one year mark and also a great session to do a cake smashing or something special to celebrate their first brithday. And to make beautiful birthday invitations!
